'It's like they never miss a pass': The Swans' Ethan Galbraith resumes contest with Pep's side.

Ethan Galbraith breaks into a smile as he recalls the thrilling dying seconds of Swansea's epic comeback triumph against Nottingham Forest in the EFL Cup. The game culminated with Galbraith picking up a fan's glasses following the on-field celebration.

During the final moments of stoppage time, Galbraith cracked the upright with a powerful effort from 25 yards, and the defender quickly converted the loose ball before sprinting toward the East Stand to mark the goal, with supporters swarming the players.

Extraordinary Turnaround

The victory sealed an incredible comeback given Swansea had been behind 2-0 midway through the second half. In the euphoria, there was some collateral damage. Galbraith explained, "There was a spectator trying to get our attention and myself and Keysy [Josh Key] were thinking: 'What's he on about here?' Then we spotted the glasses. It was a funny incident putting them on. We are on the pitch as athletes but we're people, too, so to have a laugh with the fans is always good."

Premier League Giants

The victory secured a next round match at home against Pep Guardiola's side on Wednesday, a team Galbraith ran close at the equivalent round of the FA Cup with his former club in February. The athletic midfielder had arguably the best view when the underdogs took the lead in stunning style, with a teammate's long-range effort from about way out going in via the woodwork and the Stefan Ortega. Many argued that it was credited as an own goal.

"You would have wished they would've given it to him for taking the effort on from that far out," stated Galbraith, who played in the middle before switching to right flank after Orient changed shape. That meant facing off against the England international, with whom he traded tops, and the player was among the Manchester squad who paid tribute to the way his former team attacked the game.

City's Quality

"Physically they are exceptional but even the simple things and routine actions, they can just do it over and over again," the midfielder notes. "It seems as if they complete every delivery and they understand how to manage and take the sting out of a game. You can believe you're doing well and then suddenly they will just fizz a pass between defenders without you even noticing. You have to be alert at all times of the game. It demands a resilient mindset and concentration just to remain competitive."

Swansea Move

The club pushed to sign Galbraith in January and secured his signature to sign him in the summer in a £1.5m deal. He made a name as a fans' favourite across two seasons at Leyton Orient and has rapidly achieved similar status in his new home. At Orient he joined forces once more with Richie Wellens, who earlier gave Galbraith his first extended run in professional games on loan at his loan club from United. Then came a spell at lower division Salford, before he moved on from Old Trafford.

Growth Journey

"I was perhaps a slightly green going into men's football. I think many athletes would say under-23s football is very different. Sometimes it appears the ball is moved without real physicality. You see few hard challenges. Once you start playing first-team football you have to adapt rapidly."

International Recognition

He has demonstrated that development for club and country, performing well for his national side, who are fighting to qualify for the World Cup next summer via the qualifying rounds and for whom he has started the last several matches, including home and away encounters against a football powerhouse. His former international manager, Galbraith's ex- international manager, gave him the highest praise, saying he was Northern Ireland's "little Iniesta or Xavi" given how he handles the football and his ability to spot a game-changing assist.

Early Days

This represents a remarkable path for the kid from the local area in Glengormley, just outside the capital, who used to see his dad, Stuart, also a midfielder, play for Ballyclare Comrades.

Old Trafford Memory

The player's sole appearance for Manchester United came in Kazakhstan in 2019, a Europa League trip to the host city, where they featured on an synthetic surface and the venue ceiling was shut owing to the weather of -15C. "It was a long trip and it was chilly," he comments, chuckling. "The week before, myself and quite a few of the young lads trained together, so that assisted our preparation. Just to travel with the first team and earn some playing time at the end was incredible."

Moving On

How hard was it to leave United, the club he transferred from aged a teenager? "It was relatively straightforward, because I reached the point where I knew I couldn't establish myself at the senior squad. I'm hugely grateful for the experience gained but it reached a stage where I felt I needed to go my own route, join a smaller club and play professional soccer. Now I'm steadily climbing the ladder."

Welsh Adaptation

It is the middle of the day at the team's practice facility but Galbraith has a commitment at the early evening: a driving theory test, another move in the direction of getting on the road. Prior to relocating to his new neighborhood, the mid-twenties player was a regular in Swansea's dubbed player transport, a minibus driven by team personnel, the transport team, which transports players to and from practice and games.

"I travel with Gonçalo Franco, another squad member, the midfielder – the Swedish defender used to be in it but has got his license. It's enjoyable to spend time with the guys but I'm aiming to be the subsequent individual out of the minibus and driving. The Portuguese player is known for his humor; he's constantly causing mischief."

Supporter Connections

While playing for Orient, Galbraith would blend in with followers on public transport after commuting at his base. "I tried|I attempted|My aim
